In our garden we have these LED sticks with a little solar panel on top. This is the PCB it contains:

top

The battery is a Troily 1.2V 40mAh Nickel-metal hydride cell.

The IC is an YX8018 (Solar energy Lawn lamp controller)

The solar lawn lamp mainly uses the energy of the solar cell to work. When the sunlight shines on the solar cell during the day, the light energy is transformed into electric energy and stored in the battery, and then the battery provides power for the LED (light emitting diode) of the lawn lamp at night

The resistor is 330 ohm / 10% tolerance.

bottom

The circuit is equivalent to this one from the YX8018 datasheet, except there is a resistor instead of the inductor. EDIT: Why would I think it is a resistor? It could be a small inductor.
