My goal is to find out what the smalles possible AC sine wave is that I can get on my oscilloscope clearly without much noise. The devices I will be using are my Siglent SDG 1032X AWG and my RIGOL D1054Z scope.
The minimum vertical scale of my scope is 1 mV per division. The minimum amplitude of my AWG is 2 mVpp.
- AWG directly connected to scope. 2 mVpp amplitude sine wave at 1 kHz. Every other setting on default.

- AWG directly connected to scope. 10 mVpp amplitude sine wave at 1 kHz. Every other setting on default.

- AWG directly connected to scope. 10 mVpp amplitude sine wave at 1 kHz. Acquire settings on scope: Mode=Average Averages=4 Mem Depth=12K

- AWG connected to scope through cable (50 centimeter) connected to oscilloscope probe (1 meter cable). 10 mVpp amplitude sine wave at 1 kHz. Every other setting on default. The signal is also very 'stuttery'. Perhaps try better cabling?
